Heroin Addiction and Treatment

Chapters Capistrano is a top-rated rehabilitation facility for heroin addition recovery. With highly personalized treatment programs, we strive to help addicts return to a life no longer drug dependent. No addict is affected by heroin addiction the same, so no program is exactly the same.

General Information

A synthesized painkiller from morphine made from the opium poppy, doctors sometimes safely prescribe the drug, under the name diacetylmorphine, for pain management. However, typically, the drug is used recreationally, and can have dire, if not fatal, results. Commonly injected, the drug triggers an intense rush throughout the body. This euphoric state makes heroin highly addictive. With more use and a developed tolerance, increased levels of heroin is needed to recreate the desired high.

Effects of Heroin Abuse

Abusing heroin can damage many aspects of a person’s life, including relationships with family, friends, one’s professional life, and physical and emotional health. Poisoning from “cut” heroin and/or contracting hepatitis C and HIV is common, because non-sterile needles and syringes are often used. Overdosing is the greatest risk.

Heroin Detoxification Withdrawal Doesn’t Have to be Painful

The heroin rehab program at Chapters strives to make rehabilitation and withdrawal less fearful and painful. We use a drug-specific detoxification, giving clients prescription drugs in tapering amounts until the body is stabilized, and the risk of seizure and withdrawal symptoms are gone.

The Chapters Capistrano drug and alcohol rehab center wants all those struggling with addiction to experience sober living! For more detailed information, call our 24-hour helpline at 949-371-4198.
