Deborah Beaver, Clinical
Director & Therapist

MS, LMFT, CADC, Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Clinical Hypnosis

Deborah has been working in the field of addiction medicine and treatment for fourteen years. She embraces a holistic approach to healing, and believes that integration of Body-Mind-Spirit facilitates the greatest potential for recovery. Areas of focus and experience include: co-occurring disorders (trauma, depression, anxiety, and chemical/alcohol dependence), individual, couples and family counseling, child play therapy, process/psycho-education groups, indigenous and inter-generational issues, guided meditation/hypnosis. Her educational background includes California State University, Fullerton – Master of Science in Counseling, Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Addiction Studies, Muller College of Holistic Health Studies, San Diego. Breaking the cycle of addiction and trauma carried through family generations, and healing the wounds of our soul is the foundation of Deborah’s treatment and philosophy.

Marvin Kimble, Intake &
Admissions Coordinator

Marvin holds a BA in Communications from BYU and a MS in Communications from Ithaca College. With over 15 years of experience in recovery, Marvin is happy that he is able to help so many people to recover from their addictions. When he is not at work, Marvin can be found playing on the beach with his three children or surfing the waves of South Orange County.

Lisa Burdick–Walen,
Counselor

Lisa has degree's in psychology, and alcohol and drug counseling.  Her spunky, energetic, and caring personality is a blessing to clients as well as staff.  Lisa is a great listener and has no problems telling a client if they are not on course with their treatment plan. Overcoming her own addictions, she is able to understand what you are going through and share what has worked for her.   Lisa and the treatment team work closely with each client to identify, and develop strategies for overcoming all of the issues preventing each client from achieving their greatest potential.  Her experience and expertise allow her to incorporate a variety of effective methods into a holistic plan that is customized and specific.

Andrea Geric,

Andrea's background is in addiction treatment, psychology, and fitness instruction. Andrea brings her personal and professional recovery experience to each client, helping them identify the areas of their life that need change. Andrea's health conscious approach to addiction treatment encompasses a mind, body and spirit approach. Andrea focuses on working with the clinical team to treat the client as an individual, creating a treatment plan that is specific to each clients needs.

Alison Hathaway,
MFTI, PCCI, CATC IV

Alison is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with a background in addiction counseling as well as in-patient and out-patient Behavioral Health counseling. This experience has given her a better understanding of those who struggle with dual diagnosis.

Her education includes degrees from California State University, Fullerton - a Master of Science degree in Counseling, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services with an emphasis on Addiction and Mental Health. She is also board certified as an Addictions Treatment Counselor through the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators. Her holistic approach of counseling focuses on helping clients explore the underlying issues that relate to their addiction. She specializes in helping clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and grief & loss. Alison's passion is to help each client begin a new more positive chapter of life.

Karie Lynn King,
Licensed Massage Therapist

Karie has been practicing massage since 2001 and has maintained a passion for this healing art. She graduated from Phillips School of Massage in Nevada City, California and has continued to study specific modalities.  Her favorite methods of massage to work with are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Soft-tissue release, trigger point, reflexology, tui-na, Reiki, Shiatsu, and most recently, Cranial sacral release. Karie recognizes that each body is different and communicates what it needs.  Karie believes her job is to listen and help facilitate relaxation and change in a safe, therapeutic environment. As a woman in recovery she knows just how important it is to learn to deal with stress, pain, and injury in a holistic and healthy way.  Massage allows Karie to assist others to care for their bodies, to breathe, and to experience healing and letting go. Karie is honored to assist in the journey of her clients recovery and considers being a massage therapist one of her greatest blessings.

Edmund is a California state licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. He received his Master’s degree at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and has been practicing in Orange County since 2003. Edmund uses NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) ear acupuncture protocol, the Balance Method, and NADA herbal detox tea to treat patients suffering from addiction. He is also trained in post-op acupuncture, Japanese Meridian Therapy and meditation. The most common conditions he treats are addition, pain (physical, emotional), headaches, migraines, and stress, anxiety, sleep and digestive issues.

Bernie Wolfe has been an International Sports Sciences Association Certified Fitness Trainer for the last 18 years. In his years of experience he has witnessed the damaging effects that alcohol abuse and drugs have on the human body along with years of unhealthy behaviors. In order to assist his clients in achieving healthy change, Bernie believes in developing personal fitness from the inside out. Bernie will work with you not only the proper exercise program to get you looking better, but also the proper course of diet to help you start feeling better. By helping clients to develop their nutritional awareness and physical condition miraculous transformations are taking place.

Bree Ponder, Certified
Yoga Instructor

Bree discovered a new enthusiasm for life and a way out of depression when she opened the door to Yoga in 2005.  She felt the need to share this gift of yoga and sought out an incredible education: Yoga Teacher Certification from Yoga Works in 2007.  Bree has more than 2,000 hours teaching experience and she has participated in many training, apprenticeship programs and workshops to continue her education, including: Core Power, Hot Yoga, Restorative/Yin and Power Vinyasa Flow. Bree utilizes her enthusiasm for proper alignment to encourage students to find acceptance for who they are today. She also encourages positive thinking, patience and trust in the transformational process.  Teaching yoga to students recovering from addictions and eating disorders has taught Bree how important and challenging it can be to have the strength and courage to harmonizing your mind and body.

Genevieve Garcia,

MA Psychology

Genevieve has studied both psychology and art. She finds that having a creative outlet enables individuals to express emotions that are sometimes difficult to communicate through words. Genevieve facilitates workshops where participants use a variety of different media as an outlet to express themselves through being creative. She finds that creativity can be a wonderful tool to build confidence, express emotions, and process difficult experiences. Her goal is for participants to be in the moment and lose themselves in the process, to experience peace, insight, positive reinforcement, and expression through creativity.

Genevieve holds a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University and a certificate of Therapeutic Arts Facilitation from Chapman University's extended education program.

Mack Harris, Spiritual Advisor & Certified Life Coach

Mack has been a Spiritual Counselor for 18 years.  He helps clients integrate spiritual principles with real life issues, such as marriage, relationships, emotional healing from past wounds, and working through personal roadblocks in life, such as anger, depression, fear, etc.  Mack is also a certified Life Coach through PCCCA.  As a life coach, Mack specializes in the areas personal growth, spiritual growth, life transitions and overcoming harmful habits.
