Hydrocodone/Norco Addiction and Treatment

The top-rated Hydrocodone addiction recovery program at Chapters Capistrano creates individualized, unique treatment programs for each client. Because no Hydrocodone addict is affected the same, no program is exactly the same. We believe this approach guarantees a client’s success in recovery.

General Information

Derived from two naturally-occurring opiates—codeine and thebaine—the synthetic opioid, Hydrocodone, is commonly used in combination with other non-opioid compounds such as Norco (acetaminophen). Mixing Hydrocodone and Norco can cause psychological and physical dependence.

Hydrocodone and Norco, central nervous system depressants, are used to relieve pain. When use is monitored by a doctor, the drugs can be safe and effective, helping alleviate pain for 3-4 hours. But, when Hydrocodone and Norco are taken without a doctor’s care for extended periods of time at increased amounts, serious health risks can occur.

Effects of Hydrocodone/Norco Abuse

Using Hydrocodone and Norco unsupervised can have grave physical and mental health side effects. Some of these include dizziness, itching, drowsiness, lightheadedness, nausea, sweating, and vomiting. Because addicts develop a tolerance, they will have to increase their drug intake to get the desired effect. A potentially lethal risk of using Hydrocodone is mixing the drug with alcohol, benzodiazepines, cocaine, or other medications. Adverse reactions include, but are not limited to, heart failure, heart attack, respiratory distress, and liver or kidney failure.

Hydrocodone/Norco Detoxification Doesn’t Have To Be Painful

The Hydrocodone rehab program staff are well aware that many addicts put off rehabilitation because  Hydrocodone withdrawal can be very uncomfortable. But, it doesn’t have to be! At Chapters, we use the safest, most traditional detoxification process: a drug-specific detox. Under medical supervision, clients are given prescription medication to lower the risk of seizure and ease withdrawal symptoms. Such medications are given in tapering amounts until the body is physically stabilized.

Chapters Capistrano’s drug and alcohol rehab center is committed to providing the best care for those with Hydrocodone dependency. For more information about our personalized Hydrocodone rehab programs, call our 24-hour helpline at 949-371-4198 today!
